This policy explains what personal data Chichenois (初见笙) collects, why we collect it, and what rights you have. We are a small studio based in Xianyou, Fujian, China, selling to customers worldwide.
Who we are
Chichenois (初见笙) is a studio in Xianyou County, Putian, Fujian, China. For any question about this policy or your data, write to chichenois2006@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Order data — name, delivery address, email, phone, and what you bought. Needed to pack and ship your order.
- Payment data — handled entirely by PayPal. We receive only the confirmation that a payment succeeded, the amount, and the transaction reference. We never see or store your card number.
- Messages — anything you send us through the contact form or by email.
- Site data — pages viewed, referring site, browser, country and rough device type, collected by a first-party statistics module. Essential cookies keep your cart and login working.
Why we use it
- To take payment, pack your order, and ship it.
- To answer your questions and handle returns.
- To keep the accounting records we are required to keep by law.
- To send marketing email — only if you opted in, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
Only the services that make an order work: PayPal (payments), our shipping carriers (China Post registered airmail and DHL), our email provider, and our hosting provider. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
Where your data goes
Our shop runs on a server in Singapore and our workshop records are kept in China. Payment data is processed by PayPal in the countries where it operates, and email is handled by Google. Where data leaves your country, we rely on the standard contractual protections our providers put in place.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep your cart and login working. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not run third-party trackers. You can block cookies in your browser; the cart may stop working if you do.
How long we keep it
Order and accounting records: five years. Support messages: two years. Marketing list: until you unsubscribe. Statistics: fourteen months, then deleted.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (except records we must keep by law). Write to chichenois2006@gmail.com and we will answer within 30 days. Customers in the EU and UK have the additional rights given by the GDPR; customers in Singapore have the rights given by the PDPA, which we honour on the same terms.
Analytics
We count page views with a first-party, cookie-less analytics module installed on this site. It records the page URL, the referring site, the browser, the country and a rough device type. It does not set advertising cookies, does not build a cross-site profile, and the raw records are stored in our own database and deleted on a rolling basis. No data is sold or shared with third parties.
We use these numbers only to see which pieces are looked at, which pages people leave, and where traffic comes from. If you prefer not to be counted, blocking JavaScript in your browser is enough to stop the counter — the shop itself keeps working.
Security
Payments never touch our server: they happen on PayPal’s checkout. Access to order data is limited to the two people who run the studio, protected by two-factor authentication.
Changes
If we change this policy we update the date at the top. Material changes are announced on the site for 30 days.
