1. Who we are
Chichenois (初见笙) is a studio in Xianyou County, Putian, Fujian, China. We make and sell fine silver jewellery, silverware and Chinese incense, and we ship worldwide from our own workshop. By placing an order you agree to these terms.
2. Orders and pricing
All prices are in Singapore dollars (SGD). We are not registered for Singapore GST, so no GST is added at checkout — the price you see is the price you pay us. Import duties and taxes charged by your own country are separate and are your responsibility.
We may change prices at any time, but the price shown when you check out is the price you pay. We may refuse or cancel an order if an item is mispriced, out of stock, or if we suspect fraud — in that case you are refunded in full.
3. Payment
Payment is taken by PayPal. You can pay with a PayPal balance or with a card through PayPal’s checkout; we never see or store your card details. Your order is confirmed when PayPal tells us the payment has been captured. If a payment is later reversed or disputed, we may cancel the order.
4. Product descriptions
Every piece is made by hand, so small variations in hammer marks, patina and dimensions are normal and are not defects. Photographs are illustrative; on-screen colour may differ slightly from the object.
5. Silver and tarnishing
Fine silver (990–999) tarnishes when exposed to air and sulphur. Tarnishing is not a fault and is not covered by returns. Each parcel includes a polishing cloth; storing pieces dry and sealed slows tarnish considerably.
6. Incense safety and customs
Burn incense only in a heatproof holder, away from curtains and children, and never leave it unattended. Some blends contain plant materials that are restricted for import in certain countries — it is your responsibility to check local rules before ordering. We cannot refund parcels seized by customs, but we will always help you with the paperwork.
7. Shipping
Orders are packed and shipped from our workshop in Xianyou, Fujian, China. Delivery estimates are not guarantees. For destinations outside China, import duties and taxes are the buyer’s responsibility, and we declare the true value of every parcel. 8. Returns
Unworn, unused items may be returned within 14 days of delivery. Earrings (hygiene), opened incense, and custom pieces cannot be returned unless faulty. The full process, including what to do if a parcel arrives damaged, is on our Returns & Refunds page.
9. Intellectual property
All product designs, photographs and text on this site belong to Chichenois and may not be reused commercially without permission.
10. Liability
We are responsible for the goods we sell. We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profit. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the mandatory consumer law of your own country.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, and disputes are subject to the courts of Putian, Fujian. If you are a consumer, this does not remove the protection of the mandatory consumer rules where you live.
